Gencosys will replace the old desktop computing systems with a state-of-the-art, Fully
Replaceable Units (FRU). Simple telephone like devices with no local processing power
of disks to fail. We can reuse most computer accessories.
Data in existing desktops systems will be migrated securely to Gencosys Computing
Exchange (GCx). Data will reside in secure individual file locations. Shared files can
be placed in shared file locations.
Smart Authentication Cards for every employee who needs access to systems. Spare
ones for lost cards and for guests.
Where data conversions are required, Gencosys expert data conversion experts will
assist in those efforts.
Next Generation Firefox Internet Browser. Stops pop-ups, spyware and viruses.
Very simple to use with none or little retraining requirements.
Thunderbird email client. Very similar to MS outlook in look and feel but very rich in
functionality. Includes intelligent spam filters, spell-checking, security, customization,
and newsgroups support.
Most accessories found in MS desktops like calculator, media players etc.,
An Experienced CIO will be the Singe Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Enterprise's for
IT requirements.
Part of the executive management team and provide inputs into strategic decisions.
Provide constant feedback in industry trends and technology trends to executive
management.
Systematic periodic updates on performance, usage and other metrics.
Industry standard firewall will be used to protect hacker attacks and other malicious
intrusions.
The computing platform in inherently virus/worm resistant. But constant vigil will be
maintained to prevent or repel any such attacks by Gencosys personnel.
Systematic weekly backup data is part of the standard package. Standard operating
procedures will be followed to store backup tapes off-site.
Standard package comes with 25 restores/month at no-charge. The restores will be
done based on severity and follow standard Service Level Agreements.
Users will be able to get help on day to day issues from experts who will available during
normal business hours
Users can ask "how to" questions on the tools they are working on as well as requesting
data restores.
